This past Labor Day produced some phenomenal smallie fishing. Heres Tom La Beau with a dandy 18 inch release that couldn't resist the deadly twitch/pause action of the Rip Cat. Hot purple shad pattern with red feathered tail is what they wanted all weekend.

The river muskie are finally on the bite. Heres Tom La Beau with an impressive 47" release that hammered one of the new 2009 prototype 8" Sand Cats. The tail wobble and body roll have been increased with a new drop belly design and lexan diving bill inserted into the nose. This modification also helps protect the head when pounding rocky bottoms. Stay tuned for more photos of muskie releases and photos of the bait.

The big pike are on one hot bite this summer on Wabaskang Lake. Heres pro staffer Mike Lammers again with another beauty that slammed the big 10" model Sand Cat. Mike commented that some nasty cold fronts came through this last week on Wabaskang and the slow rise wobble of the 10" model in a bronze scale sucker pattern is what they seemed to have a preference for.

Pro staffer Mike Lammers with a beautifully marked 44" Wabaskang Lake pike release this past week. Mike stated this was the best week he and his family has ever had for catching lunker pike in Canada. The 8" Sand Cat in chartreuse shad pattern was the hot bait all week that fooled 'em. What a great shot to end the trip!!

Huge Wabaskang Lake Pike Release - Northwestern Ontario, Canada

Mike Lammers guided Craig Codner to this 44", 23lb. fish of a lifetime on Wabaskang Lake June 2008. The fish hit a slowly retrieved 8" little brown pikie Sand Cat. It was released to be caught another day. Mike stated it was the biggest northern he has ever personally had his hands on in 27 yrs. of fishing pike on Wabaskang. Thanks to the Sand Cat he has put literally hundreds of 36" plus northern over the side of the boat up there.
